This project connects both Syrian refugee youths and Turkish youths to enhance life skills through art. The participants of the program will create their own individual paintings. They will then decide together which elements to use and will create two murals within the community under the guidance of 2 artists, one Syrian and one Turkish. The murals will be painted on the Mercy Corp’s community center as well as another local building in the area. The murals will then be put on display to the public and photographs will be shared through local media reports.

Karennni Social Development Centre (KnSDC) will conduct a ten-month training for 50 young adults from June 2015. The training will include non-violent social change, care of the environment, legal rights, human rights, gender issues, children’s rights and community activities.

The project will provide Baby Kits to 200 mothers in Ee Htu Hta IDP camp in Burma, thus improving the health and hygiene of the mothers and their newborn babies. The programme will also provide health education and management, and health capacity building training for KWO District and Township level Executive Committees.

This project focuses on urban refugees who are living in the city without the same protection as people living in a refugee camp. The project will promote education and skills training for refugees, integration through language training, legal awareness, and setting up micro-enterprises through vocational skill training. The education and skills training will focus on many different areas including planning and organization of micro projects, micro credit and financial management and gender equity. The refugees will be provided with information on their legal rights and assisted with permanent residence applications.
