This project provides health awareness training through the distribution of baby kits to new mothers in five villages within Karen state Myanmar, including Ee Htu Hta IDP camp.
The goal of the Karen Youth Organization is to empower and equip the youth to face the future and create a better world based on justice and peace. This includes supporting and educating young people to play a vital role in building a society that is environmentally sustainable, politically stable, economically accessible and socially just.
Teams who had been working in refugee camps along the Thai-Burma border for many years and successfully developed capacity inside the camps, were now facing a new challenge created by mass resettlement as trained people moved away. At the same time, human rights atrocities continued inside Karen State Burma.
