Showa Shell Shayukai have been supporting REI for over 30 years.
RIJ, as REI was called before 2021, was privileged to have office space in the offices of Showa Shell and we formed a great friendship with the retirees. I often attended the retiree year-end party which was always great fun.
Following the merger of their company with another oil company, the Shayukai have established an office on their own with chapters all over the country. To our delight they have continued to support our work and I still have the pleasure of meeting them every year, with my colleague Yasuko, when we give a presentation of the work they have supported through the year.
The shayukai office team always prepare a colourful report on REI in their newsletter and through this they liaise with retirees all over Japan to share news and raise funds through local activities.
