After graduating from KSDC, Richard went on to work in the camp Justice department. He said: “Asserting our right to self-governance is essential for our state. I hope we can realize our aspirations for a society in which all ethnic groups are unified through a shared empathy.”
His confidence and sense of self-worth were renewed after the treatment program. “I want to share my life-changing experience with friends who want to be free of addiction. They need to know there is a way to quit and that it is never too late.”
Solange received a lot of valuable coaching through the business training, and she put every bit of information gleaned from the program into practice. “The store provides a steady income and new customers keep coming. Everybody has to eat.”
Having received the health training and the baby kit, Naw Eh is able to practice good hygiene without having to sacrifice the family’s food budget.
How can we know what is best for communities when we are not of their culture and we do not live there? The REI mission is to shift the power to the community.
